Zurich recruits former Aegon director in UK management reshuffle

Zurich has recruited former Aegon employee benefits managing director Iain Black to head up its UK corporate risk division as part of a reshuffle of its UK management team.

Black will join the provider on 4 November and is one of three senior changes within Zurich’s UK Life division.

Jonathan Plumtree, who is currently head of corporate risk within the UK Life business, will become head of corporate savings from 1 January 2014.

Zurich UK Life’s current corporate savings commercial director Nigel Simpson will become head of corporate corporate savings international from 1 January 2014, with his previous responsibilities handed to Plumtree.

Zurich UK head of corporate life and pensions Simon Foster says:  “Over the past year Zurich’s corporate business in the UK together with international savings has witnessed significant change and expansion and our plans for the business over the coming years remain ambitious with significant market opportunities.

“In order to take full advantage of these opportunities, we need to strengthen our focus and experience and I am therefore creating two new senior roles to provide focus for our different business areas – UK savings, international savings and group risk.”
