Zurich Financial Services is set to sign a franchise agreement with the Best Advice Mortgage Network, launched this month, as it bids to build on the £10bn of mortgage business it completed last year.
Zurich says the deal will help it diversify its client base to people who only want mortgage advice and not the full financial planning service offered through Zurich Advice Network.
Intermediaries joining the Best Advice Mortgage Network will get compliance, training and technology support from Zurich.
BAMN says it is free for advisers to join as Zurich is not charging for its services in the first year, provided that the network meets specified sales targets. BAMN is also subsiding the network with income generated by its existing packaging business.
It is targeting qualified mortgage brokers and those studying for Cemap or Maq qualifications, who will have access to Zurich's training, and hopes to have 3,000 members in its first year.
Zurich spokeswoman Erica Harper says: “BAMN is potentially joining us as a franchise and this opens up a new and varied customer base.”
BAMN managing director Richard Hall says: “The tie-up with Zurich will give us access to its unique proposition and the full support it offers.”
