Charteris Treasury Portfolio Managers has hired multi-manager Tony Yousefian, who is taking his EFA OPM Property fund with him.
Yousefian, who joins from City Financial, will continue to manage the £8.9m property fund in his new role.
He will also help Charteris expand its existing fund range.
Yousefian joined City Financial in April 2013 when the firm acquired OPM Fund Management, where he was chief investment officer.
Charteris chief executive Ian Williams says: “Tony brings more than 25 years of fund management experience to his new role at Charteris.
“We look forward to him playing a fully active role in our efforts to build the Charteris fund range, and to broaden our wider investment proposition.”
City Financial chief executive Andrew Williams adds: “We would like to thank Tony for his contribution and wish him well for the future.”
Yousefian’s departure from City Financial, which was confirmed last week, followed the firm’s decision to merge the £32.8m OPM Fixed Interest fund he previously managed with the recently launched City Financial Diversified Fixed Interest fund.
The combined vehicle will be managed by City Financial’s multi-asset team, headed by Mark Harris.
Peter Toogood, Gill Hutchison and Anthony McDonald are also in the team.
Three Counties IFA Andrew Alexander says: “At City Financial, Tony’s colleague Mark Harris has a great pedigree and track record – Tony does not have this.
“His funds were not the kind of funds to draw assets.
“Tony is returning to something familiar and regional with Charteris, something that he originally had with OPM.”
