Yorkshire reveals plan to help first time buyers

Yorkshire Building Society is launching a package of financial and practical help for first time buyers.

Its range is led by a five-year fixed rate offset available for loans of up to 100% LTV and includes six months free mortgage payment insurance and a choice of 0.60 per cent loan value cashback or free legal fees and valuation fee.

The society is also offering its Fresh Start mortgage range to FTBs, with a six month interest-free period, and is available as a five-year fix rate with cashback, or five-year stepped rate tracker with cashback. None of these products have higher lending charges.

Dependent on customer circumstances, Yorkshire has increased the income multiples it will use for products fixed for five years or more. Multiples of up to 4.75 x salary are available on FTB products and Fresh Start.
