Woolwich plan offers four times FTSE growth

Woolwich Plan Managers is offering investors four times the growth in the FTSE 100 index through its accelerated growth plan.

Investors opting for a six-year term are offered four times the growth in the FTSE up to a maximum of 64 per cent. For investors choosing the three-year option, the maximum return is 24 per cent.

The plan guarantees to return the original investment, provided the FTSE does not fall by over 40 per cent from its starting level at any time during the term.

Director Colin Dickie says: “We think this version will be popular because of the option of a shorter investment term. It is aimed at investors or their advisers who believe that markets may perform only modestly over the next few years.”

Isn’t it time we gave with-profits a fair hearing?

I read with interest the front-page article in Money Marketing’s April 21 issue – IFAs told to cover their backs on with-profits. Some of the points made in the piece are valid but painting such a wholly negative picture about with-profits hardly seems to be constructive or helpful for IFAs and their clients.
