Lanson legend Sarah Whelband gave her cleaner a bit of a fright while at uni due to an obsession with Richard E Grant (pictured left). “Wheelie Bin” attended a book signing where she met the actor and was presented with a life-size cardboard cutout of him by her flatmates. When the cleaner arrived, she did not realise it was cardboard and started chatting away. The Diary thinks she should take it to work to liven up brainstorming sessions.

Mifid rules use flexible approach

The final draft of the Mifid level 2 rules reveal that the EU is adopting a flexible principle-based approach, giving the FSA scope for implementation. Advisers will not have to record all client conversations but will face more stringent rules regarding product suitability justifications.
