Winterthur stands on a flexible platform

The plans offer access to Winterthur&#39s multi-manager investment range which includes 37 funds, most of which are managed externally.

The external fund managers include ABN Amro, Baillie Gifford, Gartmore, Jupiter and Perpetual. Winterthur&#39s own managed funds include the fixed interest, ethical, tracker and specialist retirement planning funds investing in UK, Europe and North America equities.

All the funds are reviewed on a regular basis and can be replaced if they underperform.

The DC products are web-enabled to give clients and advisers up-to-the-minute information on their schemes.

Group pension product manager Angela Baskey-field says: “Those employers who want to switch schemes because of poor performance but are still obl-iged to pay into the original scheme face an administrative nightmare. The only way to avoid this situation is to pick a scheme which offers full flexibility of inv-estment choice.
