Winterthur life is setting up an online valuation fund-switching and admin service for advisers.Advisers can now get up- to- the-minute policy and portfolio information for clients with Winterthur personal pension, Sipp trustee investment plan, SEction 32 and EPP contracts. The site offers online fund switching and premium redirection, client summary reports downloadable as PDFs and bulk data downloads to help IFAs produce their own management information reports using spreadsheet software. The policy services facility follows the recent introduction of other online services, including a flexible Sipp product which offers advisers access to the Cofunds supermarket and an equity trading platform through SquareGain. Winterthur new products manager Andy Shepherd says: “This new facility shows our commitment to the adviser community, to help improve back-office efficiencies at adv-iser firms and at Winterthur and to help advisers provide even greater professional support to their clients.”
Which? says that the recent PPI investigation carried out by the FSA is shocking but unsurprising.
Commenting on the update on PPI principal researcher Mike Naylor says: Which?, says: “The results of the FSA investigation are confirm that many financial companies aren’t complying with the new regulations that have been in effect since January this year.
“There’s a real danger that many people have been sold unsuitable policies, are paying more than they thought or don’t realise they won’t get a lot of their money back if they cancel the policy.”
