Winterthur adds features to its IFA portfolio balancer

Winterthur Life has introduced a new version of its IFA portfolio-modelling tool, portfolio balancer.

The enhanced version incorporates new income-drawdown functionality, stand-alone risk profiling, the option to include final-salary benefits and two new fast-track models.

The income-drawdown solution is designed to help advisers calculate both type A and type B critical yields and the probability of achieving each of these yields based on client risk profiles.

The tool also includes drawdown modelling and a “cash reserve” facility to fund payments in the early stages of drawdown.

The stand-alone risk profile fast track allows advisers to assess a cli- ent’s attitude to risk, obt- ain generic asset alloca- tion model and produce a summary report for the client record.

Various cosmetic changes have also been made aimed at improving usab-ility including changes to the how probability of success is displayed.

Winterthur Life sales director David Thompson says: “We are using IFA feedback to continue to develop portfolio balancer. However, it has also been important to keep the pension simplification developments in mind. We ant- icipate even more usage in the run-up to A-Day.”
