Who are the 2014 IFP award winners?

The Institute of Financial Planning’s certified financial planner professional of the year award was won by Keri Carter of Broadway Financial Planning at a gala dinner ceremony last night.

The IFP’s annual awards were held at Celtic Manor in Newport as part of the annual IFP conference.

The accredited financial planning firm of the year was awarded to Fiscal Engineers.

The IFP branch chairman of the year award was handed to Andrew Page of Ashcourt Rowan and chair of the IFP Bath branch.

Old Mill Financial Planning was awarded the David Norton building excellence award. This award is given to the firm judged to have the most potential to develop as a successful financial planning firm, and is in memory of former IFP president David Norton.

The Tony Sellon “Good Egg” award was presented to Investment for Life paraplanner Joanna Hague. The award is given in memory of past IFP president and founding member Tony Sellon, and is awarded to the individual judged to have contributed most to the success of the IFP over the last year.

Hague was presented with the award at the ceremony by Sellon’s son James and IFP chief executive Steve Gazzard.

Gazzard says: “It’s great that for the very first time we see a paraplanner winning this award which just shows the tremendous contribution that this dynamic community plays in the financial planning profession. I’m delighted to congratulate Jo who fully deserves to be recognised for the good egg that she clearly is. Jo is already sharing the benefits of her experience by speaking at numerous IFP events.”

Patrick Luong of the Red House was awarded the Jonathon Timms memorial prize. The award is given to the candidate who has achieved the best overall result in the FPSB UK diploma in financial planning, and is awarded in memory of financial planner Jonathon Timms.

Truestone Asset Management paraplanner Dan Atkinson was awarded the paraplanner of the year award.

The financial planning student of the year award was presented to Rebecca Ellis. The prize is awarded to the student who obtained highest marks in the financial planning module containing the CFP certification case study, as part of their Manchester Metropolitan University degree course.
