West Brom BS to offer free car with mortgage

West Bromwich Building Society, in association with MG Rover, is offering new Rover 25 cars to customers who take out a &#39Brum Brum&#39 mortgage with the society.

The bold marketing move move presents borrowers with a three-door, 1.1 Rover 25, with their Brum Brum mortgage of £90,000 or over.

The product will be launched on April 27. The rate stands at 5.99 per cent variable. Other incentives to the loan include free loan protection insurance for six months, refund of valuation fee and no higher lending charge up to 90 per cent of LTV.

West Brom Building Society group services director and group secretary Stephen Karle says: “For first time buyers it means they can now own both a new home and a new car – something many could only dream about. It&#39s also a great boost for MG Rover Group, the Midlands&#39 top car manufacturer supporting local industry and jobs.”

MG Rover Group UK commercial director Paul Stroud says: “This offer represents a unique value proposition for individuals or couples, wanting a new house with all the trimmings – a new Rover car.”
