Wells Street Journal: From the Man from the Pru to the man with the golden gun

Vince Smith Hughes Prudential

You’d have thought anyone who helps advisers with their pensions queries would have no need to sex-up their social media presence.

However, Prudential business development manager Vince Smith-Hughes has decided the defined upper body of James Bond star Daniel Craig is the best image to use to portray himself to the masses. To be fair to Smith-Hughes, there is a passing resemblance between the pensions tax expert and the star of films such as Layercake and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as he inhabits tropical waters in tight turquoise shorts.

The Man from the Pru’s creative streak is not new. At AIG between 2007 and 2009 he was no less than the Pensions Grand Fromage. Having started out as Pensions Petit Fromage at NPI in 1989, his career progression has known no bounds.
