Ward appointed Henderson chief economist

Henderson Global Investors has appointed New Star’s Simon Ward as chief economist.

Ward was an economist and strategist for New Star, which Henderson has taken over. In his new role he will continue to post his regular economic journal, Money Moves Markets, online.

Ward has over two decades of experience as an economic commentator, having previously held positions at Julius Baer, Lombard Street Research and WorldInvest.

Tony Dolphin was the former chief economist at Henderson but left the group late last year.
