The Diary applauds the craze for pedometers and believes that if widely adopted across financial services, it will soon be rewarded by svelte figures sported by sales and marketing teams as opposed to the current somewhat undeserved rotund reputation.
To this end, we are launching a search for the most pedometry done by a section of the industry. We will provide pedometers to the first life and pension person, the first mortgage person, the first fund management person and the first IFA to email the Diary and run an ongoing competition to see who can clock the most miles over the coming months.
The prize awarded halfway through December is lunch with Money Marketing's legendary assistant features editor Bruce Love, who will show you the sights of London. Second prize is an entire weekend with Bruce.
Of course if anyone wants to sponsor a better prize, the Diary is, as always, more than open to suggestions.
