Virgin One aids homebuyers with regional guides

Virgin One is offering 11 regional guides for homebuyers moving to a new location.

The guides give advice on the area for use by borrowers and mortgage brokers. In a survey conducted for Virgin, homebuyers say the proximity of local shops, good schools and availability of public transport are the top three most important factors when looking to buy a property.

The househunting section of the guide contains descriptions of the most and least desirable locations in the region and det-ails of recent house prices.

There is a section on local infrastructure covering road network, rail travel and shopping centres. Childcare facilities, local nursery schools and education throughout the region are covered in a family section. The buyer beware section gives advice on crime as well environmental hazards such as subsidence and flooding and noise pollution.

The guide also includes a directory of travel contacts, local councils, health authorities and local papers, with property supplements.

Head of PR James Duf-fell says: “Everyone who has ever moved knows how stressful it can be with so many things to think of at once. Our guides try to take some of the hassle away. They are honest and frank and do not try to gloss over problems.”
