Vertex in talks with Trigold

Vertex is understood to be in acquisition talks with several companies including mortgage sourcing system Trigold.

The mortgage sourcing system, thought to be worth around £20m, has attracted interest from Vertex and Capita.

Both firms are seeking to fill the gap in their business propositions since Capita acquired Quay and Webline and Vertex bought 1st and The Exchange.

The purchase would give Vertex dominance in the mortgage sector as well as its presence in life and pensions.

Vertex says it has been in discussions with a number of partners and is looking for appropriate partners that are aligned with its proposition.

Vertex Life, Pensions and Distribution managing director David Childs says: “We work closely with Trigold and Mortgage Brain and we do have to meet up from time to time to speak about opportunities and our own integration for our software and Exweb customers.”
