Cofunds director of marketing Verona Smith is the latest senior member to announce their departure from the platform, following Legal and General’s acquisition of the firm.

Cofunds says Smith led the development of its proposition over the last six years and now that the business has successfully transitioned through the RDR she wants a “fresh challenge” in the industry.

Earlier this month, Money Marketing revealed Cofunds chief executive Martin Davis is leaving the business, while last month Cofunds managing director of operational services Stephen Mohan quit to join Allfunds UK.

Davis says: “Although Verona will be leaving Cofunds, the mark she has made on the business is a lasting one. The executive would like to thank her for the great work she has done and to wish her every success for the future.”

Smith says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cofunds and leave behind a very strong team that will continue to deliver for Cofunds. I wish the business all the best under the stewardship of a new parent company.”

L&G acquired the 75 per cent of Cofunds it did not already own in March for £131m, following months of negotiation between the businesses.
