Vandals target Fred Goodwin’s home

The home of former Royal Bank of Scotland chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin has been attacked by vandals.

The BBC reports that vandals smashed windows and attacked a car at Goodwin’s Edinburgh home in the early hours of this morning.

Goodwin attracted public outrage for refusing to pay back a £693,000 pension despite pressure from the Prime Minister, but it is not yet known whether he was at home at the time of the attack.

Lothian and Borders police confirmed that they were called out to a property this morning and said they are appealing for witnesses.

A spokeswoman said: “We can confirm we attended at an address at 4.35am today and inquiries are ongoing.”
