Unum revamps its group critical illness policies

Health insurer Unum is revamping its group critical illness plan.


The plan offers two versions, Basic Cover and Extra Cover.


Basic Cover protects against seven common critical illnesses and now has offers cover against multiple sclerosis.


The Extra Cover now has an additional 11 new critical conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, open heart surgery and benign brain tumour.


To mark the revamp Unum is offering all new schemes quoted within the next 2 months an additional 15 per cent benefit in the event of a claim.


Its marketing manager Nick Lomas says: &#34According to industry statistics, we are currently the second largest provider of this coverage. These changes are indicative of our commitment to taking pole position in this group protection market.&#34
