Unum appoints new chairman


Unum has appointed managing director Lawrence Churchill as chairman and risk management director Susan Ring as a director of its board.


Churchill is a previous director of PIA, ABI and Allied Dunbar. He takes over from Tom Brown as chairman of the health insurer.


Ring joined in 1995 from PPP where she was head of customer services. She is the first woman to be appointed to the board.


It has also appointed David Rather as director of distribution.
