Unbiased.co.uk has announced the winners of this year’s Media Adviser Awards, with the IFA of the year award picked up by Yellowtail Financial Planning managing director Dennis Hall.
The eight annual Media Adviser Awards were presented in London last night to recognise the work of Bluebook media advisers.
Each of the 11 categories were judged by a panel including journalists, providers and industry specialists, and led by unbiased.co.uk chief executive Karen Barrett (pictured).
Pensions IFA of the year went to Hargreaves Lansdown head of pensions research Tom McPhail, while investment IFA of the year was awarded to Bestinvest senior investment adviser Adrian Lowcock.
Protection adviser of the year was won by CareMatters head of care fees Lorreine Kennedy, and responsible investment IFA of the year was named as Ruth Whitehead Associates principal Ruth Whitehead.
Mortgage adviser of the year award went to London & Country Mortgages head of communications David Hollingworth.
Wingate Financial Planning director Alistair Cunningham picked up two awards, one for bluebook newcomer, and one for social media adviser of the year.
Best blogger of the year was won by Informed Choice managing director Martin Bamford.
The judges award for outstanding award achievement was picked up by Evolve Financial Planning director Jason Witcombe.
Unbiased.co.uk chief executive Karen Barrett says: “These awards are an important opportunity to publicly recognise the significant contribution of the media advisers who make up the Bluebook.
“Our media advisers help to keep independent financial advice and professional advice at the forefront of consumers’ minds helping them understand the value of advice.”
