TV quiz show host gets down to Earth

TV quiz show host Nick Han- cock is joining Earth Mort- gages as sales and market- ing director.

Hancock, long-time host of sporting quiz show They Think It’s All Over, has joined the mortgage intermediary firm after meeting its directors earlier this year through a mutual friend.

Earth chief executive and managing director Mike Worthington says a shared passion for sport triggered a friendship with Hancock, who says he is looking for a long-term business challenge giving him the leeway to still pursue his acting and presenting career.

Rotherham-based Earth has 200 staff, including a number of mortgage advisers, and is also looking to appoint a non-executive director with significant financial services experience to strengthen its board.

Hancock, who spent last week entertaining business clients of the firm, was unavailable for comment.

Worthington says: “We were looking for a high-profile marketing manager to take over the work we had done over the past few years.

“We needed someone with a media background, a household name with a very positive high profile to help develop the brand into a nationally recognised one.”
