TUC welcomes Denham’s job advert Bill

The TUC has welcomed former Pensions Minister John Denham’s 10 minute rule bill to force all job adverts to reveal details of the combined salary and pensions benefits.
TUC general secretary Brendan Barber says if the bill becomes law the new job adverts would help good employers recruit and retain the best staff and encourage those not yet offering a decent pension to staff to do so.
Barber says: The TUC has long been puzzled by the widespread failure of employers who offer company pension schemes to advertise this fact to prospective employees. Individuals who are seeking a good job with a decent pension will welcome the chance to discover these crucial details when they scan the recruitment pages. I wish this Bill every success.
