Towergate Insurance appoints new M&A director

Towergate Insurance has appointed Dan Saulter as group mergers and acquisitions director.

Saulter will take up his role on May 1 and will report to group finance director Scott Egan.

He has spent the past four years at Towergate Financial in various roles, including acquisitions director, chief operating officer and most recently as chief executive.

Prior to working at Towergate, Saulter held M&A and management consulting roles at KPMG and PKF.

As a result of Saulter’s promotion, Towergate Financial chief operating officer Warren Page will be promoted to chief executive of Towergate Insurance.

Group chief executive Mark Hodges says: “I approached Dan with this opportunity knowing that his skill set and experience make him the ideal candidate to lead Towergate’s ambitious acquisition plans.

“It feels great once again to be hand picking talent from within the Towergate businesses in order to build a first class management team – it is a real testament to our fantastic succession planning, as is the subsequent promotion of Warren within Towergate Financial.”

Towergate Insurance acquired six businesses in 2011, bringing the total number of its broking businesses across the UK to almost 90. In February 2012, it announced the acquisitions of Centenary Insurance and William Rogers Insurance Brokers, both based in the South West of England.
