Top speakers revving up for depolar debate

Top figures from the FSA, product providers and IFA firms will be speaking at a conference next week on the challenges faced by intermediaries with the onset of depolarisation.

FSA managing director David Kenmir, Aifa policy director Fay Goddard, PFS chief executive Mark Ommanney and John Scott & Partners chief executive Toby Strauss are just some of the figures taking part in an FSA conference on Thursday, February 24 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

The conference will discuss the challenges for advisers this year and give advice on what they can expect from depolarisation.

There will be talks on the role of advice plus discussion sessions and opportunities to pick the brains of some of the FSA retail intermediaries’ team.

Kenmir will give a speech on the regulatory chan-ges that intermediaries face this year and is promising an insight into FSA policy thinking. Strauss will highlight methods to change an IFA business model to incorporate fees while BBC Moneybox journalist Paul Lewis will ask whether IFAs serve the public well.

Kenmir says: “No one knows exactly what the world is going to look like and circumstances do differ from firm to firm but there are certain things that are constant. We want to enable people to have access to as much information and advice as possible to allow them to make the decision that is best for them.”

IFAs interested in attending the conference should phone 020 7066 9010.Kenmir interview, p9
