Scottish Provident won the business-to-business category in the recent
Marketing Society Awards for its lifestyle insurance ad campaign aimed at
independent advisers.
The company's camp-aign featured a young Tony Blair, Jeffrey Archer, David
Bowie and Des Lynam.
The company made a submission to the judging panel based on its life-style
protection products, which offer insurance against death, long-term illness
and unemployment.
ScotProv changed its IFA product focus four years ago in an attempt to
carve out a niche in the protection market.
The panel was made up of Centrica chairman Sir Michael Perry, IBM UK
chairman Carl Symon, Financial Times chairman David Bell and former Deputy
Prime Minister Michael Heseltine.
Entry to the awards is open to firms from across British business. Ninety
companies were shortlisted for the prize.
Scottish Provident head of marketing David Robinson says: “Four years ago,
we were seen by independent financial advisers as yet another medium-sized
life company trying to do everything.
“We realised that future success depended on us being focused so we had to
change many things about the company.”
