Tilney Bestinvest appoints financial planning director from RBS

Tilney Bestinvest has appointed Roy Smith to the role of financial planning director.

Smith joins from RBS private clients where he has been a wealth manager for the past four years.

He has previously worked for RBS as a senior private banking manager, and has also worked for private banking firm Adam & Company.

Smith will be based in Tilney Bestinvest’s Glasgow office.

Tilney Bestinvest financial planning managing director Richard Dawes says: “Our financial planning business is currently undergoing a period of strong growth that reflects the huge number of enquiries the firm is receiving.

“With the radical shake-up to pensions, demand for sound financial planning advice has never been greater, and appointments like Roy’s ensure that we can provide the superior service our clients expect. We are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
