Thinc takes over Watterson

Thinc Group has bought Knutsford-based Watterson Wealth Management.

Watterson will now trade under the Thinc banner.

Founder George Watter-son says: “Thinc is a great brand and Axa is a great brand. I do not think that clients will take issue.

“Thinc has a clear andprogressive approach tomanaging clients’ wealth which is based on planning, service and expert advice.I am looking forward to an exciting future.”

The firm has 18 staff, including three advisers specialising in investment, retirement planning and tax advice. It has £152m funds under management and over 250 clients, with many having over £1m invested.

Thinc chief executive John Simmonds says: “Watterson Wealth Management has a great reputation and its high quality client base will help increase our influence and impact in this important area of the market. We have aggressive expansion plans and will continue to monitor good opportunities for further growth as we seek to consolidate our position as a premier provider of financial advice in the UK.”
