Thinc Group acquires Watterson Wealth Management

Thinc Group is expanding its wealth management offering with the acquisition of Watterson Wealth Management.

The Knutsford-based firm, servicing the high net worth end of the market, brings 18 staff including three advisers into Thinc. It looks after over 250 clients and has £152m funds under management.

The deal was completed for an undisclosed sum.

Thinc chief executive John Simmonds says: “Watterson Wealth Management has a great reputation and their high-quality client base will help increase our influence and impact in this important area of the market.

“We have aggressive expansion plans and will continue to monitor good opportunities for further growth as we seek to consolidate our position as a premier provider of financial advice in the UK.’

Founder and managing director George Watterson says: “Thinc has a clear and progressive approach to managing clients’ wealth, which is based around planning, service and expert advice. This approach was the major attraction to me, enhanced by the support and commitment the group provides to its wealth managers.  I am looking forward to an exciting future with Thinc.”
