Anne McMeehan clearly knows little about the discount side of the industry.
In my experience, discount brokers disseminate more information about a more varied range of good investments than any other sector of the industry.
Having done that, they happen to offer economies of scale to their clients in the form of discounts but the discount is only the icing on the cake.
Whether they are in the mood to buy or not, my clients look forward to my newsletters and frequently ring if it does not land regularly on their mat.
I am sure it is the same for other discount brokers.
As Richard Craven of HFC observed: “It is the rest of the industry which is going to have the shake-up.”
