The Pensions Regulator appoints two new actuaries

The Pensions Regulator has appointed Andrew Young and Simon Wasserman to its team of actuaries.

Young recently retired from the Government’s Actuary Department while Wasserman was responsible for Aon Consulting’s Global Benefits Practice.

The Pensions Regulator head of regulatory policy and programmes Will Price says: “They both bring a huge range of experience on UK and international pensions issues and will be a critical part of the regulatory policy team, ensuring we deliver effective risk-based regulation across the full range of pensions issues from defined benefit to defined contribution, particularly as we approach 2012.”


Banks cutting out advisers

I am not given to writing to the letters pages but I am so incensed with recent goings-on in the mortgage market and the total insensitivity of the FSA that I feel I have to express my anger.

UK zeros sector axed

The Investment Management Association is to close the UK zeros sector from the end of September.

Old Mutual friend
