The Joint Pensions Standards Group launches improved documentation

The Joint Pensions Standards Group is launching a set of new and updated documents in its initiative to encourage improved standards in the operation of occupational pensions schemes.

The updated member guides for defined contribution and defined benefit schemes allow for changes introduced by the Civil Partnership Act 2004 and for the simplified pensions environment post-A Day in April 2006.

The A-Day changes accommodate the new lifetime allowance, annual contribution allowance and increased flexibility around concurrency.

Two further versions of the annual scheme review booklet have also been added for use with defined benefits schemes in deficit and defined contribution schemes respectively.

Chair of the member communications team Colin Bell says: “The teams priority has been to help trustees and administrators communicate effectively to their scheme members. We hope these additional documents help them to deliver a high standard of communications to their members while perhaps saving them time and costs too.
