M&G UK Retail has appointed Gary Shaughnessy as chief executive and Phil Wagstaff as managing director. Shaughnessy steps up from retail director of marketing while Wagstaff is promoted from deputy managing director.u The British Venture Capital Association has appointed Duke Street Capital chief executive Edmund Truell as chairman. He takes over from Friends Ivory & Sime Private Equity chief executive David Thorp. Truell was previously BVCA investor relations committee chairman.

Rothschild Asset Management has recruited Alexandra Man for its multi-manager team. Man joins from Bacon & Wood-row&#39s fund manager research department.

Bestinvest is teaming up with US fund analysis company Morning-star to extend its online services. Bestinvest clients will be able to access Morningstar&#39s analysis tool which lets them monitor their portfolio.

The David Aaron Partnership has updated its guide to venture capital trusts. The guide shows that all but three VCTs which are more than five years old have given investors a “good paper profit”.
