The Ethical Investment Research Service has set up a new website at The site has several pages for IFAs, giving guidance on

ethical investment funds. It provides statistics, detailed listings of all

forms of ethical finance, and a service to help investors find a specialist

ethical IFA.

Schroder&#39s Medical Discovery fund has raised £445,000 for the Cancer

Research Campaign. The fund, which reaches its first birthday this month,

contributes half of all net initial charges as well as 0.25 per cent of the

value of the fund every year to the charity. The fund has grown by around

11 per cent.

JO Hambro has extended the offer period on its Leisure & Media VCT until

June 29. The fund has raised just over £8.1m of its £27m target.

Fidelity&#39s FundsNetwork has taken £335m in its first year and has

2,700 IFA users. IFAs account for over 70 per cent of the platform&#39s sales,

with 56 per cent of IFAs using online facilities. Eight IFA groups have

white-labelled to the supermarket and over 80 IFA groups have set up links

to the site. The average age of online FundsNetwork users is 42.

F&C Management has appointed Henrik Gjerning and Niall Kirk to its global

equities desk. Gjerning, who joins from Tilney Investment Managers, will

manage the F&C Global Services fund. Kirk, who was a healthcare analyst for

Commerzbank, will manage the healthcare and biotech portions of a range of
