Cofunds has appointed Rodney Aldridge as head of sales. He joins the fund supermarket from Threadneedle, where he managed third-party distribution. He will head a sales team of 20 and will be responsible for the sale of Cofunds&#39 services to the intermediary and fund manager marketplaces.

Aberdeen Asset Management is offering a 1 per cent discount on its technology unit trust to capitalise on any redemptions from the Henderson global technology fund. The discount will reduce the fund&#39s front-end charge to 4.25 per cent from 3.25 per cent and is available until the end of the year.

Baring Asset Management has appointed Colin Harte as director of global fixed income. He joins from Norwich Union, where he was investment director and head of international fixed income.

Framlington is offering a 1 per cent discount on its New Leaders unit trust until December 31. The discount will take the initial charge to 4.25 per cent from the usual 5.25 per cent. The £35m fund targets seven sectors, inc-luding healthcare and financial services, which it believes are set to dominate growth prospects across the world economy in the coming years.
