That&#39s my boy

Every mother chronicles the milestones in her child&#39s career with a heart swelled to bursting with maternal pride. But it seems that some mothers go to greater extremes than others to commemorate the moment when the apple of their eye reaches the pinnacle of their profession.

Some might even go so far as to video each billboard from Coventry to London which bore the image of her darling boy. Well, such is the case with the mum of Isis head of fund of funds Richard Philbin.

Mrs Philbin has allegedly travelled the 100 miles from Coventry to the capital with a camcorder, recording the public presence of her little darling.

No garage forecourt gifts for you this year Mrs Philbin. By our reckoning, you should be getting the mother of all Chrimbo pressies in recognition of your singular dedication.

Mrs Philbin, the Diary salutes you. Richard, get to the shops.
