Tesco set to open 30 bank branches in-store

Supermarket giant Tesco is to open bank branches in 30 of its stores, marking its move into mainstream banking.

According to press reports, the firm, which already offers insurance, mortgages, savings accounts and credit cards, will open branches in Brislington, Blackpool and Coventry next month, followed by a pilot opening in Glasgow.

Tesco is also launching a current account for shoppers.
