Tennis Elbowed

The Diary was amazed at the wit of readers hoping to win Scottish Equitable Employee Benefits&#39 recent tennis competition.

You were asked to tell us who won the Wimbledon women&#39s singles title last year plus provide a tie-breaker starting: “Seeb enables IFAs to win game, set and match with its corporate clients because…

“…it has all the strokes to match the folks,” according to J Willsher, while forA Wilcox it was because “with Scot Eq&#39s ace service they won&#39t cause a racket, its net benefit to corporate clients and IFAs can makea packet.”

But the winner is from John Charcol corporate & executive division&#39s Dan Elliott who thought ScotEq is tops because “…it&#39s a demanding game but Scot Eq sets high standards and always match them.”

However, the Diary preferred his runner-up tie-breaker which read “…they make sure clients bounce along like a couple of happy balls after being in the hands of Anna K.”

A replica of a single&#39s victor racket has been served up to the lyricalMr Elliott.

Oh, the winner of the women&#39s singles, by the way, was Lindsay Davenport.
