Taxpayers’ Alliance director does not pay UK tax

The Taxpayers’ Alliance has admitted that one of its directors does not pay tax in the UK.

According to reports in The Guardian, the right wing campaign group’s director Alexander Heath lives in a farmhouse in the Loire in France and has not paid UK tax for years.

Former deputy prime minister John Prescott attached the lobby group over the weekend calling it “nothing but a front for the Conservative party”.

The group campaigns for lower taxes and lower public spending and has become an influential political lobby group.

But the TA refutes Prescott’s claims, saying it has a number of Labour donors and also engages with the Liberal Democrats.
