Swip recruits two for UK and Europe push

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has appointed Simon Wombwell as head of UK distribution and Chris Walker as managing director of international.

Swip plans to increase its UK institutional and wholesale business, with Wombwell given overall respons- ibility for sales and client management in both areas.

Wombwell, who will report to director of global sales and marketing Andy Frepp, was head of UK distribution at Mellon Global Investments and managing director of Newton Fund Managers. Walker, who was head of the institutional division at Scottish Widows, has been appoin-ted to oversee the expansion of Swip’s overseas offering, particularly in continental Europe.

Frepp says: “Simon brings a wealth of business development knowledge and experience and we are delighted that he is joining us. Chris brings many years of international experience to his role. The international business is a key strand of our future growth.”
