Kim Catechis, head of global emerging market equities at Swip, and Alistair Reynolds, investment director, global emerging market equities, are both leaving the company to join Martin Currie.
Ian Vose, head of global developed market equities at Swip, is also leaving to pursue opportunities within the industry.
Catechis and Reynolds will join Martin Currie in November, with Catechis taking on the newly created role of head of global emerging markets.
The moves follow Currie’s decision to separate its Asia and global emerging market desks.
Martin Currie managing director Andy Sowerby says: “We wanted to create a standalone GEM team with its own investment identity. Kim has 22 years experience in emerging markets and Alistair has 17 years.
“There are three members in the GEM team, meaning it is under-resourced. We plan to hire further people in the coming months.”
The GEM team manages one retail fund, the £25m emerging markets fund run by Dariusz Silwinski.
