SWIP appoints managing director for Europe

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has appointed Christian Elsmark as managing director of Europe.

Elsmark will assume his new role in October, focusing on expanding the Company’s European client base. He will be responsible for strengthening SWIP’s relationships with pension funds and investment consultants, as well as developing partnerships with banks and other retail distributors.

He joins from FundQuest, the multi management business of BNP Paribas Investment Partners where he was managing director. Elsmark has also held roles at T. Rowe Price Global Investment Services, JP Morgan Asset Management and Rothschild Asset Management.

SWIP director of sales and marketing Simon Wombwell says: “We are very much looking forward to Christian joining us. His appointment reflects SWIP’s ability to attract great talent and represents continued progress in our strategy of developing a top class international business team. With his extensive international experience, I am confident his appointment will allow us to expand our European customer base and enhance the value we provide to our clients.”
