Stockbroker to launch on-line service as UK interest surges

Teather and Greenwood stockbroker is believed to be planning an online broking service for private investors at the end of the year.


Online broking is becoming more popular in the UK in line with the US trend. There are now more than 20 online stockbrokers registered with the FSA.


Online broking allows investors to monitor shares at real-time prices, cheaper than when they are traded through a traditional stockbroker.


Teather which already has a website is understood to want to keep pace with its competitors such as Charles Stanley whose pricate clients can already trade shares online.
