Standard Life to launch emerging market equity fund

Standard Life Investments has announced the launch of the Standard Life Investments global emerging markets equity fund.

The fund will be run by Alistair Way who previously managed the £8.1m Japanese equity growth fund.

Standard Life Investments head of UK wholesale Jacqueline Lowe says: “Over recent years emerging market equities have gained in stature globally and are now considered to be mainstream investments.

“This is therefore an entirely logical development for the diversification of Standard Life Investments’ wholesale offering.”

The fund will consist of a diversified portfolio of between 60 and 100 stocks and will be measured against the IMA Global Emerging Markets sector.

The fund will carry a one-off initial charge of 4 per cent and an annual management charge of 1.5 per cent, it has a minimum investment of £500.
