Standard Life rebel shareholders fail to make board

Rebel shareholder Michael Hogan failed to secure a berth on the Standard Life board with the incumbents enjoying a clean sweep.

Fellow rebel David Stonebanks, standing on a pro-demutualisation ticket, also failed, but succeeded in taking votes away from Hogan- his stated aim.

The results of the vote were revealed at Standard’s AGM and a relief for the insurer as it prepares for flotation.
