Standard Life has appointed Prudential UK and Europe deputy chief executive Barry O’Dwyer as workplace managing director.
O’Dwyer replaces Ronnie Taylor who left Standard to join Scottish Widows last month.
Standard Life UK and Europe chief executive Paul Matthews says: “We have ambitious plans for the growth of our work place business underpinned by our investment in building market leading propositions, great investment solutions and talented people.”
O’Dwyer says: “I am very excited to be joining Standard Life at such a pivotal time. Standard Life’s approach to workplace pensions is the best in the business. It is driven by a clear understanding of the issues that face millions of people in the UK today.”
Following O’Dwyer’s departure, Prudential has appointed UK and Europe product director John Warburton as managing director of retail life and pensions.
Warburton says: ”We have a clear strategy, a compelling set of strategic assets and great momentum, and my aim is to build on these to ensure our future success.”
