Standard Life launches Sipp zone for advisers

Standard Life has launched a Sipp zone on its adviser extranet service which includes a new fund trading service.

The Sipp zone provides access to information and services that advisers need through the life office’s adviser zone.

The launch of online fund switching for Sipps will enable advisers to buy, sell and switch funds with quick access available via the Sipp zone.

From early 2008, advisers have been able to do their own Sipp quotes online for drawdown and the pension fund withdrawal plan for protected rights.

In addition to quotations and fund trading advisers can use Sipp zone to access all Sipp information, literature, fund information, technical services and tools that are available on adviserzone.

Ross Dunlop, Distribution e-commerce manager says: “The launch of Sipp zone on adviser zone enables advisers who transact Sipp business with us to easily and quickly find the information and services they need. With the recently re-launched Sipp quotation service we have seen a significant increase in the proportion of SIPP quotations being completed online. Advisers now use the online Sipp quotation service for over 20 per cent of all their Sipp new business quotations.”

(Another) downhill stroll — retirement planning

A report published this morning by the CIPD (CIPD Employee Outlook March 2015) provides yet more interesting data to the changing landscape of retirement planning. It should be remembered that we are in a period of genuine flux here given that the default retirement age was scrapped three years ago, and new pension freedoms come online in April. Both of these alterations will have a huge impact on how employees plan for their retirement.
