Standard Life launches European Equity Ethical fund

Standard Life Investments is to launch a European Equity Ethical Fund which will be available to investors from September 24.

The fund will primarily appeal to investors looking for exposure to European equities in an investment product which reflects their concerns on social and environmental issues.

Standard Life Investments is also launching an ethical investing micro-site at www.focusonethical.co.uk.

The site will feature fund manager interviews, ethical stock stories and literature of interest to the ethically minded investor.

European Equity Ethical fund lead fund manager Stuart Fraser says: “The fund is ideally suited to investors looking for long term capital growth and who are excited by the prospects of the dynamic environment of Europe’s stock markets.

“We will be looking to invest in companies that meet our existing ethical criteria and will actively exclude companies that fail to meet with prescribed standards. We will include however, companies whose business activities are regarded as making a positive contribution – in terms of preserving the environment or improving the quality and safety of human life.”
