Standard Life Healthcare to improve GP advice

Standard Life Healthcare is improving its GP advice line service to offer its private medical insurance policyholders access to a doctor over the telephone, 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

The service has more than 25 GP on hand to answer callers questions on anything from advice on symptoms, treating sick children and inoculations for travelling abroad.

Standard Life Healthcare managing director Mike Hall says: "We are delighted to offer the convenience of 24 hour access to medical expertise to all our policyholders. This is part of our continued commitment to offer customers convenience and reassurance."
