Standard Life bosses to join Phoenix board

Two Standard Life Aberdeen bosses will join the board of Phoenix Group once its acquisition of Standard Life’s UK and European insurance businesses completes.

Pensions and savings business chief executive Barry O’Dwyer and global distribution head Campbell Fleming will join Phoenix’s board.

Standard Life Aberdeen announced in February it was selling its insurance arm to Phoenix in a £3bn deal.

Standard Life Aberdeen also says today Cathleen Raffaeli will join its board taking the number of women on the board to three.

Standard Life advice arm to advise Phoenix’s non-advised clients

Raffaeli, currently Hamilton White Group and Soho Venture Partners managing partner, will be paid £73,500 per year as a non-executive director at the fund manager.

Standard Life Aberdeen chair Gerry Grimstone says: “[Raffaeli’s] fintech experience and background in the platforms sector, as well as her board experience, make her an ideal addition as we continue to build a world class investment company.”

There are 11 men on the Standard Life Aberdeen board.
